At the ACC Educational Foundation, we are dedicated to making a direct impact in the lives of non-high school graduates in the communities we serve. We do this by offering you the high-quality high school equivalency (HSE) preparation program at no cost to you.
The HSE is a nationally recognized certificate that is equivalent to a high school diploma. The HSE exam consists of five tests over two days: Writing, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics and Reading.
Through our HSE Academy, we are here to do everything we can to help you do your best on the California HiSET® exam. This is one of the three HSE exams adopted by the state in 2014. Our HSE Academy is solely dedicated to helping prepare you to successfully pass the HiSET®. When you pass this exam, you earn your high school equivalency certificate.

The HSE Academy is a hybrid program, which means part of your program will be completed through live in-class instruction and the rest will be completed online. To help you successfully complete our program, we provide assistance with setting up your class schedule, individual tutoring, and various online materials and resources.

In-person classes are offered five days a week for two hours per day, though students are only required to be on campus two days a week for instruction or tutoring due to the hybrid format of our program. Classes are available at three Southern California locations, including Los Angeles, Anaheim and Ontario. This includes morning and afternoon sessions.
Best of all, our HSE Academy program does not cost you a penny. Why? Because we are dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve by helping students pass the HSE. We know it will help open new and exciting doors for you to pursue your life dreams.

Our unique HSE Academy is designed to teach you exactly what you need to know to achieve a passing score and obtain your HSE certificate, which is equivalent to a high school diploma. The program is accelerated to help our students get to the next level in their life as soon as possible. This could be pursuing higher education, a better job opportunity or simply that personal goal to get your credential.
Passing the HSE exam does not take extra skills that are beyond what is taught in high school. You can do this! On average, most students who go through our HSE Academy complete their preparation within 40 to 55 days in class. More importantly, the vast majority of our program participants pass their HSE!
And remember, you can attend our HSE Academy at no cost. This includes no-cost in-class instruction, materials and testing fees.
Every student who is applying to the American Career College Educational Foundation’s HSE Academy must attend a scheduled orientation and take a preliminary assessment before being officially enrolled.
Because our HSE Academy is a hybrid program, students will be expected to spend two days a week on-campus with the other three days being completed online. Once enrolled in our HSE Academy, you should make sure to attend all required in-person classes, as attendance is crucial for you to get the most out of the program and to best prepare you to pass the HSE.
You can expect instructors who are approachable, knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. Most of all, you will have personal access to educators who are passionate about what they do and who care about you and your success.
Along with live in-class teaching, our instructors are available for requested one-on-one tutoring time if you need more individual help or guidance. They will also keep you regularly up to date on your progress and success so you always know where you stand.
Additionally, we provide access to technology — like computers and Internet — that is available to you in the classrooms for open lab study time. And you will have access to a library and a host of materials you need.
